FINALLY! Some figure pictures!

At last, I have been able to insert the pictures of some of the first stage of painting: The Faces and hands.
Feast your eyes on 26mm pieces.

Yes, I know they don't have Tricornes, but they still look cool, and could double up as Fusiliers and Grenadiers.

Until next time!

Flags of Felbah

 Hello!
Some of you may have (or equally may not have) been wondering about the Flags that Felbahns use. Well, I can certainly say that I do have Flags here.
Here, I have the Felbahn State flag:
And here, the Felbahn Army Flag:

And the Naval flag (Rarely used, but still official for trading up the Rhine etc.)

So, now you can see the Flags I have been working on.
I have also decided on an enemy for our great nation, as well as our neighbor. This nation is a fully Swiss nation, called Schwyzen-Laufenburg.
Flag here:

They occupy the region of Laufenburg, Switzerland.

So, this has been an overview of the flags to be painted on my troops (and those of the enemy) once I have finished painting everything else.

More updates soon. Cheerio!

History of Felbah

I suppose I should write about the main History of the Duchy. The city of Säckingad was founded in the 6th Century, but was then burned down. It was re-founded in the 13th Century.
Later (in 1432) A Badenese official named Adolf Felkén noticed that the Badenese Government in Säckingad was corrupt and, frankly, evil. He wrote to the Emperor of Austria. This Emperor, Fredrick III von Habsburg, was actually backing the corrupt officials. Once Adolf became aware of this, he brought his small army to order; to attack the council chamber.
The attack was successful, and so, the happy populace elected Adolf as their duke, making him Adolf I von Felkén.
The war with Austria only lasted a small while, as the Austrians had believed that the rebels wanted more land. This, however, was false. They only wanted Säckingad and some small territories in Switzerland. They could have lost more.
After a series of stalemate wars over the centuries, Duke Robert von Felkén, made Duke in 1612, decided that the army needed to be modernised. Very soon, Felbah became known for her musketeers, and the muskets themselves were made in the village of Stein, Felbah. And the men who used them did so well. Soon, the Swiss pikemen were making way for the Felbahn Musketeers. They were used in many great wars, such as the Thirty Years war (as supporters of the Protestants) the Spanish war of Succession (with the Holy Roman Emperor) and the War of the Quadruple Alliance (As a British and Habsburg regiment.) Soon enough, the Felbahn troops, made famous by their Yellow cuffs and Red Jackets, were on the battlefields of almost every war, meaning a stunted growth in Felkén itself. This could become problematic, but we shall prevail!
Until the next time,
The Duke.
P.S. The paint I was working with spilled, so it looks like I won't be doing any faces or hands today!

Le Paint Job

And now, from the creators of the Italian Job...

The Paint Job!!!

Yes, after working for about 2 hours (yes, only two hours) I have finished... The faces and hands at least.
Slightly underwhelming, yes, but I'm a first-timer, and I'm quite happy to see the enamel paint working.
And once I have worked out how to add pictures from the camera roll on an IPad (APPLE, We meet again.) I shall show you the awesome pictures that I have. The success, and the failures, the life and the death, the whole ones and the ones which I accidentally broke the legs off. Yes, working with really thin 25mm figures is really tough for a beginner (like moi!)
So, I have done the faces of around 40, so I still need to do the faces of around 250, and the rest of all of them. So, guess what am I doing over the next few days? (A bit of baking with my mum, writing a language, cleaning the doo-daa, wiping the phlebjub... Oh yeah! And PAINTING!)
Auf Wiedersehn, my friends. Until next time!
The Duke (who must not be named...)

Introduction to the Duchy of Felbah

Hello all!
I don't suppose that at this time there are many of you (I have only just started up the blog!) but this is a welcome to all of you who will maybe follow said blog, perhaps look at it from time to time, or if you are a moderator, consider pulling it down.
So, without further ado, I must show you the Duchy of Felbah.
The Duchy is a small, 18th Century nation, existing on the river Rhine, just Northwest of Zürich, with lots of Grenadier units, and a hat sense way ahead of its time.
The National colours are Red and Yellow.
The nation is ruled by Duke Jöhan von Felkén, who rules with an even hand over the nation.
On a map, the nation encompasses the town of Bad Säckingad (renamed Felkén for the purposes of this game.) and also some of the villages just south of said city, in Switzerland, as well.
So, this is the start of a historical era! An era in which Felbah unites the other Imagi-Nations under her flag (or gets totally destroyed. It's all at the roll of a dice)
This is the rise of Felbah!
